Our eyes are the window to a world of vibrant colour. They allow us to enjoy the wonder of a child’s smile, the fascination of the art world and the indescribable beauty of our planet. When it comes to size, reliability, optical performance, adaptation to changing light conditions, energy consumption and sustainability, our eyes exceed even the most superior state-of-the-art camera.

Bring your entire family to Mall of the South for a comprehensive eye and vision examination and experience the latest technology in eye care.

REGULAR EYE TESTS ARE IMPORTANT

The most important preventive step is having an eye test regularly by a qualified Optometrist. Children should receive their first comprehensive eye test by the age of 4, unless a specific condition or history of family childhood vision problems warrants an earlier examination. People ages 20 to 30 should have an eye test at least every two years. Yearly eye tests become important in the late thirties when changes in vision and focus along with eye diseases are more likely to develop.

When it comes to preserving your vision, early detection is the solution.

PREVENT EYE STRAIN FROM DIGITAL DEVICES

Mobile digital devices have conquered the world at an extremely fast pace and pose new challenges to the human eye.

The frequent use of digital mobile devices is challenging to the human eye. With the constantly growing use of digital screens, the number of daily cycles switching from far to near vision and back has increased considerably. This is very demanding on the ciliary muscle of the eye and – with diminishing accommodation capabilities – can lead to blurred vision, tired or dry eyes and neck strain.

UV PROTECTION

Extended exposure to the sun’s UV rays has been linked to eye damage and disease, including cataracts, macular degeneration, pingueculae, pterygia and photokeratitis, all of which can cause vision loss that may be permanent. Make sure both your clear and sunglass lenses have 100% UVA and UVB protection of up to 400nm.
